How to read this table
The 1 unit = column shows what one unit of each currency is worth in the base currency – for example, how many rupees one US dollar buys. The last column converts the amount you enter. Rates are mid-market rates and refresh every minute while the page is open.
Rates used for tax and compliance
- GST invoices in foreign currency – converted at the RBI reference rate on the invoice date
- Customs duty on imports – CBIC notifies exchange rates twice a month
- Income tax – Rule 115 generally uses the SBI telegraphic transfer (TT) buying rate
- Company accounts – Ind AS 21 / AS 11 require translation at the transaction-date rate, with year-end restatement of monetary items
Exporting services or paying foreign vendors? We handle 15CA / 15CB, GST returns including zero-rated exports, and IEC registration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do these rates come from?
They are live mid-market rates from public market data, fetched by our server every minute. If the live source is unavailable, the latest daily rate is shown and labelled as such.
Can I use these rates for my GST invoice?
For GST, use the RBI reference rate on the invoice date. These live rates are a good guide but are not the official rate.
Why doesn't every currency show an arrow?
Arrows appear after the first refresh, when a rate has moved since the previous minute. Keep the page open to see movements.
Rates are indicative mid-market rates for information only and are not an offer to buy or sell currency.
